During the old gentle- man's [gentleman's] time his will was to set us free, but three years after his death his heirs broke the will and we were put on the block and sold in Sparta, Tenn. I have three brothers, Isaac, Abram and Billy, and two sisters, Ann and Eliza. When mother died I was a baby.
