Thomas Coakes is inquiring for his brother, Wm. Coakes, who left Richmond in 1867, had served three yrs. in the United States Army and told his mother he had enlisted for three years more and said he was going to write as soon as he got to Texas. He was born in Amelia Co. Va. His owner was Lewis C. Harvey at that time President of Danville R.R.
