DEAR EDITOR—I wish to inquire for my mother, brother and sister. Mother lived in Baltimore, Mary- land [Maryland], on South two doors from Saws- berry [Sawsberry] street. When I left, she was living with James Jone, a merchant tailor. I belonged to Jacob Grav- ing [Graving] Stein at that time. Her name name is Eliza Johnson. My brother and sister were brought to Louisi- ana [Louisiana] by a negro trader named Slater. Brother's name is Andrew Johnson; sister's, Mary Johnson, and mine was Charley Johnson.
