MR. EDITOR—I would like to find my mother; she used to belong to Mrs. Eliza Thompson; her name was Tempy Hall; she was sold from me when I was a little girl; she was sold just before freedom. Her mother was named Binah Hall; her father Jerry Hall. She was sold in Greenville, S. C., by Mrs. Thompson's son, Waddy Thomp- son [Thompson]. All her relatives live in Greenville, S. C., where she was sold. She wrote to us about eight years ago from somewhere in Ten- nessee [Tennessee]; we answered her letter and asked her if she needed money to come home, and she did not answer the letter, and I have never heard from her since.
