We were owned by a widow by the name of Adolph Cherefan Rashaund, a little below Alexandria, La. Shortly after the Yankees came down I and two brothers, Gustave and Harry Woods, and a young man belonging to the same owner by the name of Tom Wheeler, were taken away and I have not heard from them since. MR. EDITOR: I wish to inquire through the columns of your paper for my mother and father. Father's name is Moses Woods; mother's name Katie Woods. We were owned by a widow by the name of Adolph Cherefan Rashaund, a little below Alexandria, La. Shortly after the Yankees came down I and two brothers, Gustave and Harry Woods, and a young man belonging to the same owner by the name of Tom Wheeler, were taken away and I have not heard from them since.
