John Jones, the colored man who recently sought the aid of the New York police in finding his mother, Parthenia Jones, from whom he was separated during the early days of the war, has been notified of of the success of the search. The story he told was printed in the newspapers several days ago and was read by Mrs. Cecilia Jones, the wife of Parthenia's younger son, William Anderson Jones, of 345 West Forty-fifth street. William Jones is a porter on the New York Central Railroad. He returned home yesterday morning and his wife told him what she had read about his alleged brother's efforts to find his mother.
