FROM TEXAS.

MINEOLA, WOOD CO., TEX.,

We have had a good little rain in this part of the section.

Prof. Cain's wife has a good school at Lake Fork, Texas, and it is well seated with thirty-five scholars.

Mrs. Lucy Meade says Rev. R. Spiller is a first class preacher. Some talks that the St. Paul Baptist Church belongs to the M.E Connection, if that's so, the M.E. connection has two lots in Mineola. Rev. T.W. Bartlett says he is going to resign, and preach at the First Baptist Church, Texarkana, Ark.

There is not a colored paper printed here.

Mrs. Susan Anderson has an "ad" in the PLANET. She has received two letters, one from Alex. Johnson, the other one from Charles Braxton of Lake Providence, La., both these gentlemen are readers of the PLANET
