On June 14. 1899, my wife Ar-meto Barnes deserted me. I have not heard from or seen her since; except on one occasion, I heard that she was dead. She is a light brown skin woman about 22 or 23 years old, with a piece of her left ear bit off. This accident to her ear happened while she was living in Cameron Her home was in Hearne where her parents, Rev. S. M. Miller and Mrs. Missouri Miller, and her brother re-side. Before marrying and while at home she went by the name of An-nie Haywood; since then, I have heard that she was also known as Annie Williams. I will say, also, that she lived a fast life.
