Oldest brother was Lewis Norris, then came Elias, Prince, Henry, Sam, Jerry and Warren. Oldest sister was Rhody, then Jane, Priscilla, Malinda and Charity. All went by the name of Norris, and were raised by Col. Joseph Taylor. My mother's name was Silvey Norris and belonged to Col. Joseph Taylor. Father's name was Prince Norris. He belonged to Mr. Johnny Norris and was his blacksmith. I left my brother Sam in Mobile, Ala., with Dr. William Taylor, and I left brother Henry in Montgomery, Ala., when he belonged to William Power. I was then with a speculator on my way to New Orleans from South Carolina. We lived near a little village named Anderderson Court-house, five miles from the place where we were raised.
